This week, I want to revisit one of the 40 prophecies I first shared in 2022 regarding a cosmic event. We have seen partial fulfillment of that prophecy this year, and we could see more of the same before this year ends.
I shared this at the 2022 Vision Conference: “I saw a bizarre cosmic event in the heavens. The Bible says there will be signs in the heavens above. It could be a solar flare or comet breaking through the Earth's atmosphere. It won’t bring major destruction, but it will affect technology worldwide, cause power outages, and make international headlines.”
This prophecy has been partially fulfilled. On May 10, many looked to the skies in wonder as the Northern lights, or aurora borealis, became visible in areas far south of where they are normally seen. This was said to be caused by an “extreme” geomagnetic storm on the sun, which sent bursts of radiation called coronal mass ejections toward Earth.
At the time, scientists warned the storm could have noticeable effects on things like satellite and radio communications. Representatives of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said there was “some degradation and loss to communication systems that rely on high-frequency radio waves, as well as some preliminary indications of irregularities in power systems.” There were also reports of problems with global positioning system (GPS) devices, which rely on satellites (Brumfiel).
Similar warnings are being given for around June 4-6, when another geomagnetic storm on the sun is expected to face Earth, potentially triggering more electronic interference and more pretty light displays (French). However, it remains to be seen what effects that will have—and whether there will be any power outages.
The prophecy I shared also mentioned there could be a comet. Normally, it is difficult to see a comet without a telescope. However, scientists are predicting that Comet Tsuchinshan–ATLAS could pass so close to Earth this October that it will be visible with the naked eye (Rao). Of course, it remains to be seen how close it will get and whether it will “break through the Earth’s atmosphere.”
When first spoke about the Rebirth of America Dream the Lord shared with me this past March, I discussed the significance of another celestial event—the total solar eclipse visible across much of the United States on April 8.
I previously shared this from the dream: “Around April 2024, a metaphorical conception happened. It coincided with this eclipse leading to something serious happening in the nation before the elections in November 2024. This event caused absolute chaos and affected the elections in the U.S. in November 2024. It seemed like an epic October surprise, and pandemonium ensued. I knew that President Joe Biden had fizzled out, and they had tried hard to prop him up. But this event right before the election caused a major division of America right before and during the election time. It intensified the division already in the nation to a very scary and intense level.”
It remains to be seen whether these events will happen exactly as the Lord showed me—and whether the comet in October could be related to the “epic October surprise.” However, I urge you to continue to pray for the United States as we watch for signs of rebirth just like we watch for signs in the heavens.
With the total solar eclipse, the more southerly Northern lights, and the October comet happening so close together, some scientists are saying 2024 is an unusually active year for cosmic events. However, these events shouldn’t be too surprising for those of us who follow Jesus. He told His disciples a long time ago that there would be signs in the heavens leading up to His second coming.
Jesus prophesied this in Luke 21:25-28: “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
Throughout history, the heavens have declared the works of God, announcing His splendor (see Psalm 19:1). However, I believe the cosmic events we are seeing today are more than just awe-inspiring sights. As we pray for the rebirth of our country and the effects this could have on the entire world, we can also thank God for reminding us that “redemption draws near.”
