What I am about to share is the biggest news I’ve ever heard in over 50 years of walking with the Lord. It is still being confirmed, and you may have been following it on the news, but it’s being reported with increasing certainty that the remains of Noah’s Ark have been found. This is incredible news for world history and for confirming the biblical narrative, but this is about more than either of those—it’s a marker in time. It is a clear sign that we are now in the closing period of this age, and we will soon see the coming of the Lord’s kingdom with the most important sign of all—His coming!

First, I will explain why I know this is a sign of such significance. Over 30 years ago, one of the most remarkable prophetic people I’ve ever known, Bob Jones, and I were ministering at a large church in Denver, Colorado. One morning Bob came down to breakfast and said he had dreamed that we were going to meet a man who was looking for Noah’s Ark and the Ark of the Covenant. Bob said the man he dreamed about would find Noah’s Ark.

There were about three years when Bob would often dream about what we would experience the following day. It would always be fulfilled in a spectacular way that could not have been manipulated, so he had my attention. I have met a few people who have been seeking Noah’s Ark and the Ark of the Covenant. Just about everyone knows that finding either of these would be one of the most important archeological discoveries in history, but what Bob was told in his dream was that this was going to be one of the most important prophetic messages to the world as well.

Later that morning, Bob and I were meeting with about 50 pastors at the church that was hosting us. As Bob and I looked over the group,  we both discerned that a man standing in the back was not a pastor. When it was this man’s turn to come forward for personal prayer, he looked very skeptical about what we were doing. Then, Bob challenged him about not being a pastor. He admitted it, surprised that Bob would know this. Bob welcomed him for prayer anyway, then recognized him as the man in his dream the night before who was looking for Noah’s Ark and asked him about this. The man was now even more surprised. He said he was leaving on an expedition that evening to look for Noah’s Ark.

Then, it got even more interesting. First, Bob recognized a “special anointing” on him, and after a couple of minutes of trying to discern what this anointing was, Bob said to the man, “You’re an astronaut!” The man was James Irwin, one of the twelve who walked on the moon. This formerly skeptical man seemed to now be a believer in what we were doing.

Then, Bob described to him the place where he was going to look for the ark. James concurred that Bob was describing the very place they were about to look for it. Bob then told him that the Lord was going to let him find  and study it, but he could not reveal his find to the world because it was not the time.

Here is the critical part: In Bob’s dream, he was told that when the remains of Noah’s Ark were revealed to the world, it would “do the work of twenty thousand anointed evangelists and be a sign to the world that we have truly entered the ‘days of Noah,’” as Jesus referred to the end of this age.

James Irwin went on the expedition and found it, bringing back pictures that seem just like some that have been on the news recently. For over 30 years, I’ve often wondered about this and when it would be the Lord’s time to reveal it to the world, knowing this would perhaps be the most important marker in time until the Lord’s return.

As I’m writing this, there seems to continually be more confirmation coming out that this find is the authentic Noah’s Ark. Of course, there will be many who refute this, but from what I’ve heard about the find, it is going to be hard for anyone to refute if they have scientific integrity. Even so, those with the Spirit of Truth will know it’s true. However, what is really important is not just finding perhaps the greatest of all artifacts, but what this means as a message to everyone living on the earth at this time.

There may not be a more important prophetic message that we will get before this age closes, except possibly when the Ark of the Covenant is found. The Ark of the Covenant represents the glory of the Lord, and the biggest news about this age coming to a close is that the Glory of the Lord, Jesus, will soon be again on the earth just as He promised.

The most important events about the end of the age are stated in Isaiah 60:1-5: “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth, and deep darkness the peoples; but the Lord will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” The most important events that are about to unfold are not about the antichrist or the “mark of the beast.” They are not about what the devil is doing but what the Lord is doing.

As we’re told in Isaiah 60, darkness will cover the earth, and the devil will do all he can to stop what the Lord is doing. However, distinguishing between the works of the devil and the works of the Lord is going to be very easy for those who know the Lord. We need to be aware of the darkness but focus on the Light, following the Lord and being part of what He’s doing. Those who are overly focused on the darkness will be easily deceived by it. Follow the Light. What the devil may be doing in these times is not nearly as important as what God is doing and how we can help prepare the way for His Kingdom.

I will have much more to say about this, but for now, remember the three things Jesus told us to do to be prepared for this time: 1) stand up, 2) look up, and 3) rejoice! We “stand up” by standing without compromise for what we believe and by refusing to retreat before the enemies of the cross. We “look up” by keeping our eyes on Jesus, who is on the throne above all authority and dominion. And we “rejoice” by never losing the joy of the Lord, which is our strength.
