This week we continue our study of Revelation 1:10:

    “I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day….”

         Understanding what it meant for John to be “in the Spirit on the Lord’s day” is the beginning of the revelation of an important theme of prophecy in Scripture—“the day of the Lord.”

         The Apostle Peter indicated the importance of this when he wrote,  “But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day” (II Peter 3:8)....

   This week we continue our study with Revelation 1:10:

      “I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like the sound of a trumpet.”

    The phrase “in the Spirit” is often used to describe being in a supernatural experience through the Holy Spirit. In these experiences, the spiritual realm becomes more real than the natural realm.      Alpha is the first letter in the Greek alphabet and Omega is the last. An alphabet is the basis of a language, and Jesus is the basis of the language of God—He is the Word of God. To Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

        Throughout this revelation Jesus is referred to as “The Lamb,” implying that this will be His primary title forever.
