The Lord draws near to a life of sacrifice. Mount Moriah illustrates the power of sacrifice. It’s where Abraham was willing to sacrifice Isaac, and where David sacrificed to buy the threshing floor from Ornan for an altar, saying “I will not offer to God that which cost me nothing.” He prepared the foundation for the Temple with costly stones. And Mount Moriah is where Christ laid down his life as the perfect sacrifice for sin. He calls us to present ourselves as a living sacrifice to God.
