Week

The first week of 2026 was full of challenges and conflicts, conflicting narratives about what is happening, and conflicts about what needs to happen to bring order to the increasing chaos. What is this leading to? Some have started predicting that this is the beginning of World War III. Could we be in actual danger of this?

Yes, but that is nothing new. We have been on the verge of this for years. As I learned as a pilot, your worst enemy in an emergency is panic. Panic causes overreactions that can make the crisis even more dangerous. No doubt we’re in a serious place, and the intensity is increasing. However, we have been here many times before, and we not only survived but came out in a better place. Can we do this again now? Yes.

There is a true saying that, “If you do not change your direction, you will end up where you’re headed.” The world is headed into increasing conflict, so how do we change our direction so we can end up somewhere else? It’s already been determined for us. Before the world has a complete meltdown, the greatest move of God there has ever been will break out. It will quickly grow until it captures the whole world’s attention, and it will steer the world away from the abyss—for a time.

As Christians, we serve a kingdom that is in perfect peace, and those who seek this kingdom will be living in increasing peace regardless of the conditions in the world. Through these, His kingdom is coming to earth to bring peace on earth. The power of this peace is much greater than all of the chaos among men.

However, this peace will not come at the expense of truth, righteousness (doing what is right), or justice. In fact, the peace that the kingdom is bringing will be established on truth, righteousness, and justice, which are the foundations of true peace.

In Romans 16:20, we’re told, “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.” The Lord uses the title “Lord of hosts,” or “Lord of Armies,” over ten times more than all of His other titles combined, but we’re told here that it will be the “God of peace” who will crush Satan, the ancient enemy of God and men. How is this?

First, to see the situation accurately, we need to have peace in our heart, not agitation and certainly not panic. Anything but peace will cause a distortion in what we’re seeing. This is crucial because we are in times of increasing stress and conflict for those who do not know the God of peace. Before we can help convince others to turn in another direction, we need to be established in it ourselves. This is the time when we will see this begin.

A tranquil demeanor is rare, and it is becoming so rare that it will stand out more and more. In this way it will become a powerful, compelling witness. However, having it as a witness is not the only reason that we should seek it. It is the basis of being able to accurately see and evaluate our world from a foundation of “righteousness, peace, and joy.” We’re told in Romans 14:17-18, “For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he who in this way serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.”

Without righteousness, peace, and joy, our vision and understanding will be clouded and confused. With these in our lives, our vision will become clear and focused. The light on the path we should take will be clear and will increase as we walk it. Those who do will begin to stand out so much that the world is going to take notice, and come to the Light. This is prophesied in Isaiah 60:1-3:

Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples, but the Lord will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

Not a single biblical prophecy has ever failed to come to pass, and we are approaching the time when this one will. We’ll see this as we continue our study of the books of Daniel and Revelation. We’re here to be a part of this one. This is the time to give ourselves to living in His kingdom now and walk in the great light that is rising.
