This week, I am asking you to pray into a couple more of "The 40 Prophecies" I received prior to MorningStar’s 2022 Vision Conference. Though the Lord gave these to me years ago, I believe we are getting closer the possibility of them being fulfilled.
As I have mentioned before, how we pray in response to prophetic words can affect how or even if events happen. We saw this in the Bible with Nineveh, which God spared after its people repented in response to a prophetic word (see Jonah 3:10).
Here is one of the prophecies I shared: “I saw a significant-sized building being damaged by extreme wind or a weather phenomenon which caused its crumbling and collapsing. This will be a major news story. This could happen in the Northeastern U.S.”
This word has not been fulfilled. Last year, we released an MSJN Special Alert about Hurricane Lee and the Atlantic hurricane season in general. Using all the prophetic insight and meteorological data available to us, our team warned people of potential impacts from the storm—but we also internally wondered if it was possible that an Atlantic storm might fulfill this ominous word about a large building “crumbling and collapsing.”
We believe that intercession during Atlantic hurricane season was largely responsible for lessening the 2023 hurricane season’s severity. While the rain fell in record amounts in some places, the most severe winds generally remained out at sea. For this reason, we also hold out hope that the fulfillment of this word may have been averted by prayer this year—or perhaps in the future as we continue to pray about every wind storm that targets the Northeastern United States.
We are not in the business of blaming the victims of disaster. Just as most sicknesses are not judgments from God, most natural disasters and catastrophes are not judgments from God. Rather, they arise from the curse of sin and death at work in the world around us, affecting both the wicked and the righteous. This is why Jesus explained, “He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust” (Matthew 5:45).
In many cases, a significant disaster occurring at a symbolic place serves as a sign prophecy. For example, the Islamic terrorists targeted the Pentagon and the World Trade Center on 9/11 because those places symbolized America’s military strength and economic power. Symbolism helps us understand what the enemy is targeting or what the Lord is seeking to expose or restore. The Northeast is where America was founded, where the Puritans first landed seeking religious freedom in 1620, and where the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776. A tower falling in this region may be a symbolic representation of our departure from the national roots of religious liberty and freedom from governmental tyranny.
Pray that the Lord will move in the Northeast and bring the American people back to Himself. Many people respond to disaster by questioning God, but this line of questioning can often lead to a sustained season of people actually returning to God if handled properly. This is why the prophet Hosea declared, “Come, and let us return to the Lord; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up” (Hosea 6:1). In order to see this redemptive process unfold, the body of Christ must first mobilize to bring relief to victims, evangelize in an appropriate and effective way, and minister to the hurting as the Spirit leads.
Pray that the Lord will “send workers for the Harvest” when hard times unfold. Pray that instead of having their hearts hardened, the American people will discern the Lord’s hand in what unfolds so that they will return to Him. Ask the Lord to begin raising up relief workers to bring aid to those in need and the hope that only the gospel can bring before this or other disasters unfold.
I also previously shared this prophetic word: “In the middle of rising gas prices, I saw a costly oil spill in the Southeastern United States. I saw oil-saturated beaches in Florida. This will be a difficult challenge for Governor Ron DeSantis to navigate. This will be a third test for him, and he will have a literal mess on his hands. Please pray for him in this situation.”
This specific word has not happened yet. However, there is ample precedent for oil spills, both off the Alaskan coast and in the Gulf of Mexico because the maritime routes for oil tankers pass through these waters frequently. This word is also likely related to another prophetic word I received which predicts rising gas prices, because the context given is that this will be, “in the middle of rising gas prices.” This suggests that we should be more watchful over this particular word amid rising energy costs.
God prepared King David to be king by allowing him to face a series of challenges. As a shepherd, he faced the lion and the bear to prepare him to confront Goliath. The defeat of Goliath prepared him to face even greater battles in the years that followed. Every trial he faced was designed by God to develop him as an effective leader. Likewise, let us pray that the Lord uses this event—and other events in Governor DeSantis’ life—to make him the leader God has called him to become.
God spoke through the prophet Samuel that David was, “a man after his own heart” (1 Samuel 13:14). In the same way, pray that the Holy Spirit will work in Governor Ron DeSantis, granting him the courage he needs to stand for righteousness and the wisdom he needs to navigate new challenges in each season of his public service.
