MorningStar News June 2005

The work of restoring the former Heritage Grand Hotel and Conference Center purchased by MorningStar Fellowship Church continues to make good progress. Ninety-one hotel rooms were approved for use in May, and we are hoping to add several dozen a month until all five hundred and one are restored.

For a time this property had the attention of the whole world. Our goal is for it to be used again in an even greater way, as a base for training and equipping some of the most radical, fearless, and effective soldiers in the last day army of God.

The response to the Nehemiah Project through which churches, ministries, and even individuals can sponsor the restoration of a room and have it named after them has been very encouraging. We have also received other large gifts devoted to the restoration of Heritage. This has not only been helpful in getting the job done, but has given MorningStar the encouragement that we are not alone in this huge and important task. Many have been joining the MorningStar Strategic Team (MST, our partner’s fellowship), which supports the strategic missions of the ministry. MST has already doubled this year, and its growth rate continues to increase.

With the physical restoration of the property, there seems to be a corresponding spiritual restoration going on. In just one eight-day period, over ninety-one people were baptized in water there and about the same number were baptized in the Holy Spirit. Every week there are salvations, people being baptized in the Spirit, as well as gifts and ministries of the Spirit being imparted or awakened in people. The activity of the Holy Spirit is definitely increasing here, and we know we are just beginning.

In what may be some of the best news yet, it now appears that the twenty-three story high-rise unit that was left half finished on the property, will not have to be destroyed, but may still be in good structural shape. MorningStar is having engineers verify this and re-certify the structure.

If it proves to be usable, which we are almost certain now that it is, we will turn at least part of it into a retirement center, which we will call a Refirement Center. We will also make some of it into an assisted living center, and some will be used as a hospice. It will be so awesome that people will actually look forward to getting there. Our goal is to make people’s last years on this earth their very best, and for the hospice to be a true gateway to heaven.

This Refirement Center is not only for the purpose of honoring our fathers and mothers. Our ministry attracts such a young age group to our churches, with CAUSE, and the schools located on the property, we believe some of these elders will make the best mentors, teachers, intercessors, and missionaries. They will help to fulfill the Malachi 4 mandate to restore the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to the fathers, so that the Lord does not smite our land with a curse. It will be an example, and a prophetic statement, of the esteem for life from the womb to the tomb.
