Apr05WEEK14
Last week we discussed the increasing shaking and change that will ultimately climax in the greatest time of trouble the world has ever known, but it will also be the greatest glory. We are called to not only endure these changes, but learn to thrive on them, seizing the great spiritual opportunities that they present. The primary way we do this is by having rock solid consistency in our own hearts which can only come from a life that is built upon the kingdom of God–-living under the authority of the King of kings.
As we read in Daniel 11,...

Mar29WEEK13
Last week we discussed how change is a healthy process that every living thing experiences. The challenges that change brings to our lives can help us to be a wineskin that can hold new wine without bursting. The great, Russian writer Alexander Solzhenitsyn once said, “Even biology teaches us that perpetual well-being is not good for any creature.” Biology also teaches that when there is an excessive resistance to change, it is a sign that the death process has begun.
The same is true intellectually and spiritually. All healthy, growing things will change and expand. When we begin to resist...

Mar22WEEK12
Last week we discussed how change is a fundamental characteristic of all who are growing. This week I want to discuss a couple of ways that we have implemented change as a lifestyle in our churches, which we believe has had remarkable fruit.
As we learn from biology, the cells in a body are constantly being renewed. Even at the most basic level there are changes happening continually, with some organs of a healthy body actually being renewed every month or so. Others may take a bit longer, but are still being renewed continually. How does this apply to the...

Mar15WEEK11
As we have studied, racism is one of the ultimate enemies of mankind, and is of the character that is most basically opposed to the heart and ways of God. Racial conflict was also the first thing the Lord mentioned when He was asked about the signs of the end of the age. Therefore, those who are truly aligned with God and His purposes at the end must be free of this most basic enemy of the purposes of God.
For this reason I want to take this week to apply some practical ways to become free of the...

Mar08WEEK10
This week we continue our theme about how the Great Commission was to “...make disciples of all the nations” (Matthew 28:19). As discussed, the “nations” here represents ethnic groups, not political entities.
So how do we recognize nations? How do we baptize them? How do we teach them to observe all that He commanded us? In Acts 17:26-28 the apostle Paul says:
and He made from one, every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times, and the boundaries...
