    Discerning the Times, Part 40
    by Rick Joyner

At this writing, one of the questions being asked about the economy is the following: Has it bottomed out or will it continue to slide even further? When the government throws several trillion dollars into the economy, you have to expect a short-term spike or at least a checking of the fall. However, if it does not accomplish this, then it is wasted as far as bringing true economic recovery. The most basic problems in the U.S. economy have still not been addressed. The basic vehicle of the economy remains stalled and will likely fall even further into a deepening...

    Discerning the Times, Part 39
    by Rick Joyner

We are continuing to address the following three questions in relation to world events:

    1) What is happening?

    2) What is not happening?

    3) What can we do about it?

From the perspective of our calling to be “the light of the world” (see Matthew 5:14), we should have answers from the Lord concerning the world’s ultimate problems. We are taking a bit of time to address the world economic issues because these will be some of the ultimate issues at the end of the age, which is why the “mark of the beast” is an...

We are addressing the following questions:

    1) What is happening?
    2) What is not happening?
    3) What can we do?

We have been focusing on the economy because this is the primary crisis in the world at this time. If the church is called to be “the light of the world” (see Matthew 5:14), then we should have answers for the world’s ultimate problems. The Bible teaches much about economics and stewardship. If we had followed the wisdom of the Bible, it is certain that we would not be in the crises we are in personally, as...

We are addressing the following questions:

    1) What is happening?
    2) What is not happening?
    3) What can we do about it?

This week we will address question 2: What is not happening?

The first thing that is not happening is an economic recovery. As Christians, we need to understand the economy for a number of reasons. First, it has been estimated that from 30 – 50 percent of the biblical teachings on righteousness have to do with stewardship. In the Lord’s own teachings, such as in the Parable of the Talents, it is...

    Discerning the Times, Part 36

    Our goal is to discern:

    1) What is happening?

    2) What is not happening?

    3) What we can do about it?

We might paraphrase Question 3: What can we do to be the salt and light we are called to be in our times? In order to be the light we are called to be, we must have it or have understanding of it. We are exhorted in Proverbs 4:7, “Acquire wisdom, and with all your acquiring, get understanding.” Every Christian should be compelled to understand their times. The Lord even rebuked those as hypocrites...
