When the disciples asked the Lord about the signs of the end of the age, the first thing He said was,See to it that you are not misled” (see Luke 21:8). Obviously, this will be a time dominated by deception. Other biblical prophecies corroborate this. Could deception get any worse than it is now? That answer is yes, and it’s quickly getting much worse.

The devotion to, or corruption of, the truth is an ultimate point of conflict at the end of the age. To find those of “a different spirit” in this timeor to even find a person of integrityis extremely rare, even among Christians. This must be reversed for those who serve the One called the Truth. He has given us the Spirit of Truth to lead us into all truthto Him. If walking in truth is not a primary devotion in our life, it reveals how much our love has grown cold and how far we have drifted from Him.

To truly follow Jesusthe Truthand stay on the Path of Life, we must build our lives upon loving the truth and be resolutely devoted to it. Those who do not have this resolve will be deceived. They will also be vulnerable to the ultimate deception that is prophesied to come upon the whole world at end of this age.

To walk in truth in these times of deception, we must also have the fortitude and patience to be accused of things that are not true and keep our integrity. As our Lord was subjected to this, and even had false witnesses hired to accuse Him, leading to His crucifixion, He told His followers that we would be subjected to the same. So, we should not be surprised by this and resolve to stand for truth in this evil time.

The apostle John wrote, “the whole world lies in the power of the evil one” (see 1 John 5:19). The devil, whom Jesus called, “the father of lies,” does not care if something is true or not when he uses it. Few politicians or authorities who rule in this present realm care either, but they will use anything that is politically expedient for their agendas. Even the best judicial systems today are not designed to find the truth as much as they are designed to reward those who are the most skilled at convincing people of a desired narrative, regardless of the truth.

As artificial intelligence becomes more widespread, the lies are getting more believable. There are already videos of me saying things I never said, created with AI. This is happening to almost everyone of influence, and it’s increasing. This may sound dark and depressing, but it is the truth. This is how things really are now, just as the biblical prophecies warned.

So, what can we do? We do what Jesus said to do in Luke 21:28: stand up, look up, and rejoice. As a popular song once said, “Don’t worry. Be happy!” How can we rejoice while evil is so prevailing? We can believe the Scriptures. They accurately warned of these times and assure us they are a sign that the King will soon return.

So, we stand up for the Lord and the truth, without compromise. We look up by keeping our eyes on Him and the things above, His kingdom. And we rejoice. How can we not rejoice if we know our redemption is drawing near? As we keep our eyes on Him, we will be encouraged by all of these things, not discouraged.

If we keep our eyes on Him, we’re told that, “He sits in the heavens and laughs” (Psalm 2:4). The Lord is not sitting on His throne wringing His hands worrying about all of the evil on the earth. He is actually laughing and rejoicing, knowing evil has a very short time. If we’re sitting with Him on His throne, we will be rejoicing with Him, living in a different reality than this present, evil world.

We should also rejoice that the Lord thought enough of us to have us live in the times of ultimate darkness to prepare the way for Him and His kingdom. I was once pondering how wonderful it will be to meet the great saints who lived in biblical times, and in a prophetic experience, I was able to meet some of them. To my astonishment, they were more excited to meet those who had lived at the end of the age than we were to meet them.

Here’s an important truth we can stand on: the Lord knew He was putting us in a world with these conditions, and He did it for our sake! The harder it is for us to navigate this world and stay true, the more devoted to truth we must be. If it’s now much harder with AI, we know by His word that when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord will raise up a standard against Him. The Lordand His truthwill always prevail, and He is going to use the great deception of these times to raise up some of the greatest champions of truth. That is a basic message of the book of Revelation and most of the prophecies of the end of this age.
