Week

We have taken some time to prepare for a deep dive into the books of Daniel and Revelation. I was compelled to do this because I know much of what we cover will shake some foundations. For this reason, we need to strengthen our foundations, which is always a good thing, as we are already experiencing Hebrews 12:26-27, in which the Lord says, “‘Yet once more will I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.’ This expression, ‘Yet once more,’ denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.”

In each Word for the Week, I try to provide a word for the present as well as the future. In the last few months, I have had dreams of revival and harvest, with warnings of how these are going to impact us. This requires a change in the trajectory of my plan for WFTW. I will continue to weave insights from Daniel and Revelation into these, but our basic focus needs to be preparing for revival and harvest.

From what I’ve been shown, it is not currently possible for the body of Christ to be ready for what is soon to be upon us, but there is nothing impossible with God. Just as the Lord lit the fires on the altars of His dwelling places in Scripture but told the priests to keep the fire going, we must start laying up the fuel to keep them going after He starts them.

The key characteristic of the first century church born in Jerusalem that prepared them for the move of God then was that they were “devoted” (see Acts 2:42). They were devoted first to the apostles’ teaching. Next, they were also devoted to fellowship and the breaking of bread with one another. This pattern is being repeated in our time. Expect teachers to soon be released with apostolic depth and authority, and a new level of devotion to fellowship and true communion (common union) to come upon God’s people.

God’s truth and the fruit and gifts of the Spirit have to be worked out in people’s relationships with one another. The more we can prepare for these now, the more He will be able to use us in what’s about to unfold. Those who read WFTW are some of the most devoted I know of to these same things. Those who read things like this are seekers whom He promises will find Him. You are the kind of people we seem to always find as foundations upon whom He builds His works. I expect many of you to one day be leading and teaching multitudes of people. As you have kept your hunger to know the Lord and His ways through some of the driest times, your faithfulness is about to pay great dividends.

In a dream that I was shown the beginning of the next move of God, it started with devoted seekers who were resolutely seeking Him in a very dry place. Just a crumb from Him they considered a treasure. When the revival broke out, it was unexpected and in an unexpected place—a Sunday school class. It happened there because it was filled with those who were so devoted and hungry for God.

A few days later, I was given a follow-up dream. Instead of being in the small, cramped Sunday school room, I was in a huge facility, probably the largest in that city. Even so, it was just as cramped and overflowing as the Sunday school room had been, and there were crowds outside unable to get in. There may not be adequate facilities for what is coming, so we should now start scouting for them.

During these dreams I was allowed to feel the compassion of the Lord for the crowds who were like sheep without a shepherd. I don’t want to ever forget that feeling, because I know it is what He is feeling. It should be our primary devotion to feel what He’s feeling, to be used by Him, and to help care for His people. As the Lord implored Peter three times about this before His ascension, He is now imploring those who follow Him with this same devotion.

In these times, many who have never been leaders or teachers are going to arise to be some of the best ever. He really has saved His best wine for last, and like Peter, if we really love Him, we will help take care of His sheep.
