I have now talked with many leaders about my dream that foretold the coming second American Revolutionary/Civil war, and it seems they all agree that we are headed toward this and it is likely inevitable. Most also assumed that the conflict would be between the political right and the left. This may be true to a large degree, but what I saw in that dream indicated that this was not entirely so. This will be a battle against extremes on both the right and the left, but there was a “third column,” an alternative that would ultimately prevail.

As I write this, I still do not have much clarity about this “third column,” but I believe this is a movement born out of revival and awakening. Jesus is not a Republican or a Democrat. Believe it or not, He has many people that are both of these. When He comes back to rule over the earth He is not coming to take sides, but to take over. If what is now unfolding in our nation is so that we can be a part of the highway that must be built to prepare the way for The Lord (see Isaiah 40), this highway is God’s higher-way. To see this highway and be a part of building it, we must look up to see His kingdom that is above most of our human politics. Even the best human policies can fall far short of God’s ways.

For the next few weeks we will look at the present points of conflict, especially looking for those issues that are clearly enemies of the truth, justice, and purposes of God. We will also look at those that are more aligned with His revealed ways and purposes. In this study, we have focused mostly on the coming revolutionary/civil war in America, but there is a great struggle rising in virtually every nation that mirrors what is happening here. There is a struggle for them to preserve their heritage, history, culture, and identity against the forces seeking to meld everyone into one homogenous conformity.

The motives of the globalist can seem noble with such ideals as ending war, equal provision of basic needs, etc. Likewise the patriots, or nationalists, can come across as selfish and warmongers who fail to regard the needy. These perceptions can be false, and they can also be legitimate. This is why serious Christians can be found on both sides, and some bad characters are also on both sides. To see and understand our times, we must see these major points of conflict with more depth.

In my dream, I was shown one word that defined our nation’s national purpose from heaven’s perspective—LIBERTY. Following that word was “and justice for all.” I took this “all” to mean all ethnic groups. I think this is true, but I know it also means all nations. It is important for the purposes of God that all nations be free, and for them to maintain their identity and uniqueness. As we see in the amazing diversity of God’s creation, God’s unity is a unity of diversity not a unity of conformity. If we are truly free we will not be threatened by how others are different from us, and we can be secure enough to be in unity with others that are very different from us in some ways.

George Washington has been proven to be right about what would happen with a two party system. He did not think there was a need for political parties because we were all Americans and should be able to debate and stand for differences without dividing into sectarian groups. Washington’s vision of a country without political parties was not a unity of conformity. Rather, it was a nation in unity about the basic principles of liberty and justice that had enough maturity and vision to be free to disagree without dividing into parties. Now, the self-interests of the parties thrive on division instead of a constructive unity.

In 2014, I inquired of The Lord about who our next President would be. He answered me right away, saying that He was not going to tell me who but that He would tell me what we needed in a leader. He said, “Patriotism is going to win.” He said that a sign of this would be the New England Patriots winning the Super Bowl that year. He then said that the kind of leader we needed would not just be a patriot, but also an “ally fighter who can fight in many directions at the same time.” This was because to accomplish his purpose, he would be at almost constant battle on numerous fronts.

It was early in the football season when I had this revelation so I watched closely to see how the Patriots were going to win. I thought there would be a message in it. They won on a last second miracle play when it looked like they were doomed. That is how the patriots won the first American Revolutionary War, and how I expect patriotism will win the coming one. So do not ever give up.
