Prepared for the Times, Part 6
    by Rick Joyner

As we have discussed, after the Fall, the first one about whom it was said that walked with God was Enoch. We are told in Jude 14 that Enoch prophesied, and a good case can be made that everyone who truly walks with God prophesies. This does not necessarily mean predicting the future, but simply speaking for God. However, many do not even recognize when they are being used in this way—not that this is essential, but we might be used more if we could recognize it.

We are studying the increasing need to know the Lord’s voice, and for authentic, trustworthy prophetic ministry in our times. This is reflected in
Acts 2:17-18, which is a quote from Joel 2:

“And it shall be in the last days,” God says, “that I will pour forth of My Spirit on all mankind: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

The primary way we get to know the voice of the Lord is by being with Him, yet some principles we learn in our own personal relationship with Him can be helpful to others. He relates to each of His people in a unique and personal way. This is not because He is changing, but because we are all unique, an attribute He seems to especially love in His creation. This is why He gave a different word to each of the seven churches in the Book of Revelation. Even though they all existed at the same time and in...

The strongest Christian life will have a deep understanding of the Scriptures, with a devotion to go deeper, as well as knowing the voice of the Lord, with a devotion to know Him better. This is our resolve for this year in our study. If we accomplish these two things, it will be a very successful year.

As stated previously, we know that there will never be a conflict between God’s written Word and any message or revelation that comes from Him. His Word assures us that He cannot lie and that He never changes. His written Word, the...

The written Word of God, the Scriptures, is the basis for all Christian doctrine. The gift of prophecy is not used for establishing doctrine—rather it is used by the Lord to direct His people in the present and sometimes in revealing the future. When prophetic revelations have been wrongly used to establish a new teaching, these have inevitably been false teachings and have often resulted in the beginning of a cult. We should never give credence to one who seeks to use a revelation to establish a doctrine. The written Word of God alone is given for doctrine or the...
