Nov12WEEK46
A few weeks ago, President Putin of Russia wrote a controversial op-ed to America that was stimulated by the crisis in Syria. In his article, he took exception to the phrase “American exceptionalism.” That is understandable, especially with the problem of how this is translated into other languages. To Europeans, and especially Russians, anything that seems to promote pride in a people group brings back all of the horrors of the Nazis and their “master race.” We, therefore, should not be surprised or offended when others do not understand the term “American exceptionalism.” It is not even understood by...

Nov05WEEK45
This week I received one of the most important letters I think I’ve ever received from a member of my own church. It convicted me of a terrible assumption and presumption on my part. I’m sharing it with you because many others may feel the same. This is the letter. I will make some brief comments at the end:
I've been a member of the Fort Mill church for some time. I was attracted to Morningstar because I felt the teaching was so profound and that it was truly something I needed for spiritual growth....

We continue our study of The Great Commission by addressing some of the major strongholds that must be confronted by the gospel of the kingdom. In recent weeks we have been addressing how Marxism is fundamentally in conflict with the coming kingdom, as well as with what has propelled civilization forward. It is fitting that the color adopted by Marxism is red. There has been no ideology in history that has caused more bloodshed of its own people than Marxism. This is because of one core precept of Marxism as stated by Karl Marx in The Capitalist: “the individual has no value.” Without any religious or moral basis other than the interests of the collective, it became not only acceptable, but a duty to kill as many as necessary to bring about total subjugation to the collective. This was the basic validation for Lenin’s purges.
Stalin took it...

Oct22WEEK0
This week we continue our study of the basics of Marxism. As we already covered, the two most basic precepts of Marxism are: 1) Individuals have no value, 2) There is no such thing as private property. Under pure Marxism, everything is about the collective, and everything belongs to the collective—the state.
We may protest that in Communist China now there is a great proliferation of private enterprise and private property. This is true, and the government of China has made a very intentional and systematic break from the basic tenets of...
