“The Last Battle” is the battle for our own hearts and minds. Never in history has there been such a mental and emotional assault on humanity as now. As we continue to dig deeper into II Chronicles 7:14, we will see it is one of the most powerful texts in Scripture for dealing with the basic issues of our hearts and minds. Obeying this one verse will draw us closer to the Lord, which is the ultimate answer to every human problem. Of course, this will also help us become more useful to Him...

        We will continue this week digging down into the first of four requirements laid out in II Chronicles 7:14 for the Lord to heal our land: for us to humble ourselves. This one factor, as we will see, can have a powerful impact on our quality of life in many ways. 

        As stated in James 4:6, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (NKJV)....

        We continue this week looking into the four requirements laid out in II Chronicles 7:14 for the Lord to heal our land. They are:

1. Humble ourselves

2. Pray

3. Seek His face

4. Turn from our wicked ways

These are what God’s people are commanded to do, not the heathen. So, we want to do these and not just understand them....

        In Isaiah 60:1-5 we are given a prophetic picture of a time when “darkness is covering the earth, and deep darkness the peoples.” However, the Lord also promises the appearance of His glory and the nations coming to His light during this time. Then Isaiah adds that our sons and daughters will return, and the wealth of the nations will be brought to His people. This hope is an anchor for our souls, and we must always keep this in mind.         Faith in God is also faith in ourselves. This is not faith in our righteousness, wisdom, or even faith, but faith that His work in us is sufficient for anything He calls us to do. False humility is a rejection of God’s adequacy in us and is an affront to Him.

        When we criticize other people’s children, are we not criticizing the parents? When we criticize the Lord’s children, are we not criticizing Him, or saying we don’t approve of the way He is raising them?...
