Taking the Land, Part 17

Many Christians have the simplistic understanding that the next life will be a matter of the reward of heaven and eternal bliss for those who accepted the Lord and a corresponding eternal punishment for those who did not. There is far more to the plan of God than that. Basic to understanding the coming kingdom, we must understand that the Lord will restore mankind and the earth to its original purpose, the paradise that it was intended to be. We also need to understand the process of restoration through which this will be accomplished.

Clearly Ambiguous

Last week we briefly addressed a few basic principles needed to understand the biblical prophecies of our times. One principle that we need to address in more depth is the fact that most biblical prophecies are very general in nature. Why didn’t the Lord make them more specific?

The Army of God Mobilizes, Part 36

One of the key factors in mobilization is having a cause to mobilize to. Those who mobilize must have a reason to mobilize. The cause is crucial and so is the leadership who is calling for the mobilization. The cause must be right, but people also want to know that those who are leading the cause are trustworthy enough to follow.

Abiding In The King Produces Kingdom Authority - The Path of Life, Part 31

The kingdom of heaven has authority over the earth and over all natural laws. The miracles of Jesus were a demonstration of how the authority of the kingdom of heaven has dominion over any condition on the earth. To the degree that we abide in the kingdom by abiding in the King, we too can walk in authority over any condition on the earth. As we approach the end of this age, this will change from “can” to “must.”

Day 125 - The Veil

The true gospel of the kingdom is a presentation of the King through His people. We read in II Corinthians 3:18, "But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit."

It is by beholding the Lord, and seeing His glory that we are transformed. However, we must do this with an "unveiled face." What does this mean?

His Faithful Witness—The Book of Revelation

The church at Pergamos is commended by the Lord for being faithful even in the days of Antipas, whom the Lord called His “faithful witness.” That this is linked to “Satan’s throne” is no accident. Paul wrote in II Thessalonians 2:3-4:

Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,

Day 77 - The Maturing of the Saints

"But woe to those who are with child and to those who nurse babes in those days!" (Matthew 24:19)

This was a warning that the Lord Jesus gave when He was describing the last days. Another way that I think we could phrase this is "Woe to those pastors who keep their people in immaturity!"

Yesterday, we addressed the need for the equipping ministries listed in Ephesians 4 if the church is to function and mature as it is supposed to.

Day 29 - The Fall

She took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate (see Genesis 3:6).

If we listen to the devil, and give serious consideration to what he says, we will almost surely fall into his trap and sin. Those who fall into sin almost never do so because of a single, instantaneous temptation.
