We continue this week with the theme of how an economy is the foundation for any government and how love is the foundation for the economy of the government of God. Before continuing with our study of how this applies, taken from I Corinthians 13, I want to share a word that I was given nearly twenty years ago.

 We continue with our study of how love is the foundation of the kingdom economy. Because we are told in I Corinthians13:8 that “love never fails,”

we know that if we build on this kingdom principle then we cannot fail. We should also consider that it will be to the degree that we build on love that we will succeed. For this reason, we will take a bit of time to review the biblical definition of love, and how love must be practically applied to our economy.

The kingdom economy is built on trusting more in the principles of the kingdom of God as taught in the Scriptures than in the trends and principles of this world’s economy. Of course, there are many areas in which the principles of both overlap, or are at least similar, but there are many areas where they are diametrically opposed. That may sound big and complicated, but it isn’t. In fact, the kingdom economy is much simpler and easier to build on than the world’s economy, and it is going to begin to become a reality this year.     The church is moving toward unity like I have not seen before in my lifetime. What is happening is more than a reaction to the elections, though that may have contributed to it. The economic shaking is a factor also. Even so, just as the Apostle Paul rejoiced that the gospel was being preached regardless of what the motives were for those doing it, we can rejoice in this tremendous thrust toward unity.
