Yesterday I was talking to Dr. R.T. Kendall, the author of a number of modern classics such as: God Meant It for Good, Believing God, and Total Forgiveness.
Dr. Kendall had a dream a few nights ago in which President-elect Obama wanted to get close to him because of his knowledge of the Scriptures. We are going to spend the next few weeks examining the lessons from the recent elections because we probably will not get a greater illumination of the times than this for a long time.

The elections were an indication about the present state of the nation. We must understand how, but first we need to understand that an election does not necessarily mean that God’s choice won. As we are told in Psalm 115:16, “The heavens are the heavens of the Lord, but the earth He has given to the sons of men.” This is why the Lord will...

This is the day that the Lord has made—so don’t mess it up!

Really, we can mess it up or enjoy it. We can dwell in the presence of the Lord today if we choose. All we have to do is comply with the simple, easy, exhortation of Psalm 100:

What exciting times we live in! The kingdom of God is closer today than it was yesterday. The kingdom of God is coming regardless of who is elected, in any election. The kingdom of God is going to come and the Lord’s will is going to be done, right here on earth as it is in heaven, period.  

This does not mean we should not be engaged in the process, vote, and maybe even run for office, but the promise is that if we will seek the kingdom first, everything else will be added to us that we need....

This week I need to make a departure from our subject on Mobilizing the Army of God. There is much more to be said about that, and I hope to get back to it later. By far the current events are weighing on people’s hearts and minds, and as a watchman/pastor I feel that I need to address some of the crucial events of this time.
