Oct09WEEK41
One of the great weaknesses of modern Christianity has been our devotion to making converts rather than disciples. When people are made to believe that all they have to do for salvation is raise their hand while standing in the back of a room, with every eye closed and every head bowed so as not to embarrass those who might slip up their hand, these “converts” are made to think that to be a follower of Christ will require little from them. However, true faith will require everything, including our lives. True discipleship is to no longer live for...

Oct02WEEK40
Last week I wrote that I would share the two things we must do to have the Lord pay off the entire world’s debt. The first is to simply turn to Him in repentance for thinking we did not need Him, asking Him to help us. The second is to let Him help us. It is that simple.
Will the world do this? Yes. As we see in Isaiah 60:3-5, after darkness has covered the earth and deep darkness the people, the glory of the Lord will appear upon His people, and the nations will turn to the...

Sep25WEEK39
The Lord Jesus said that we could not be trusted with the true riches of the kingdom until we learned to handle earthly riches. It has been estimated that from one-third to one-half of the biblical teachings on righteousness have to do with stewardship. Not doing this is why one was called “wicked, lazy slave” in the Parable of the Talents (see Matthew 25:26).... -
Sep18WEEK38
The kingdom of heaven has authority over the earth and over all natural laws. The miracles of Jesus were a demonstration of how the authority of the kingdom of heaven has dominion over any condition on the earth. To the degree that we abide in the kingdom by abiding in the King, we too can walk in authority over any condition on the earth. As we approach the end of this age, this will change from “can” to “must.”
In John 14:12 the Lord said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works...

Sep11WEEK37
Three major thrusts are now taking place in the body of Christ. The first is unity, and this is making unprecedented possibilities unfold for the church. Those with faith seize possibilities. Those who live by fear instead of faith get left behind. On His last night on earth, Jesus prayed earnestly for the unity of His people. We can be sure that the prayer of the Son of God will be answered. The body of Christ will come into unity.
Benjamin Franklin exhorted the original colonies before the Revolutionary War in America to “join or die.” This is...
