With the recent passage of the “hate crimes” bill in Congress, the persecution of the church in America by its government has begun. We can expect it to begin slowly, but we need to prepare for an onslaught because it is coming.

Of course, all Christians should be against hate and crime. Many who voted for this may indeed think that is what they are trying to eradicate, but as is now very often the case with our Congress, few seem to examine all of the potential consequences of such legislation. This bill is probably the biggest attack...

We continue to address one of the most important questions of the present time: Should Christians devote their energy and resources to shoring up the crumbling foundations of governments and institutions or devote these to preparing the way for the coming kingdom?

You may have noticed by now that I have rephrased this question each time, which I am doing because it is a multifaceted issue. I have also given my answer to this question—we should always seek the kingdom first because this is a clear mandate from the Lord Jesus Himself. However,...

Why should we not spend our effort and time in building the kingdom and just let the world crumble as it is destined to do?

We have already discussed our mandate to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world, so if the earth is falling into increasing darkness, it is because our light has failed....

We are dealing with some of the most important questions being asked at this time: If the foundations of the nations are crumbling, is it not a waste of time to try to shore them up? Why should we not spend all of our efforts and time in building the kingdom and forget about the nations that are doomed anyway?

If we are in the time of Daniel 2, when the statue that represents all of man’s empires is crumbling, and the little stone that represents the kingdom is growing into a mountain and will keep growing until...

    Discerning the Times, Part 28
    by Rick Joyner

Almost daily, there is evidence that the foundations of world governments and institutions are crumbling. In biblical prophecy, the primary cause of what is called, “the great tribulation” (see Matthew 24:21; Revelation 7:14), which will come at the end of this age, is the result of human problems exceeding human remedies. With this increasing shaking, questions are being asked with increasing frequency: Should we work to help shore up these foundations? As the salt we are called to be, should we help to preserve them? Or is this like trying to patch holes on the Titanic when it...
